Celebrating 20 Years of Handcrafted, Sustainable Winemaking in the Ramona Valley AVA
“ Harvest Reflections from the Winemakers”

Fall has settled over Ramona, and you can feel it in the crisp mornings, golden hillsides, and the way the light lingers over the vines at dusk. We’re heading into our last harvest of the year this Saturday, and there’s a special kind of buzz on the ranch—bins ready, clippers sharpened, and that mix of relief and pride that comes after a season of hard work. This is my favorite time to pause, breathe in the sage and dust, and remember why we do this: to craft wines that taste like this place and share them with our community. If you’re reading this, you’re part of that story—thanks for being here with us as we wrap up harvest and lean into cozy, flannel-weather days at the ranch.

Fall is one of the most rewarding times to witness sustainability in action here at Ramona Ranch. As we bring in the last grapes of the season, our CSWA-certified vineyard and winery continue to operate with the same commitment to stewardship that guides us year-round. Our solar and wind systems provide nearly all the power needed for harvest and crush, while careful water management and composting help close the loop from vineyard to glass. The cover crops we planted last winter are now returning nutrients to the soil, and our property’s wildlife habitat areas are alive with migrating songbirds preparing for winter. Every fall, we’re reminded that sustainability isn’t just a label—it’s a way of caring for the land that makes Ramona Ranch wines truly rooted in place.

Our Sangiovese is shining this season — and our ’22 just brought home a GOLD medal, adding to its earlier Bronze from the Sunset International Wine Competition! Aromas of cherries, plums, and light herbal notes create a lovely bouquet, leading into soft tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. On the palate, you’ll find layers of baked cherries, black currants, and blackberries, with a delicate finish of cinnamon and warm spice.
This elegant, food-friendly red captures the soul of fall in Ramona — perfect with hearty pastas, roasted vegetables, or a cozy evening by the fire.

We’d love to welcome you at the ranch — open Thursday through Monday. Join our Wine Club for special events, exclusive releases, and a true taste of sustainable Ramona winemaking.
Every bottle is a promise—to our land, our neighbors, and the creatures who call this ranch home. Thank you for believing in sustainable farming, small-lot craftsmanship, and local wines made with heart.
